One of Arlington’s newest eatery Barley Mac hosted their second Glenlivet Scotch Dinner on December 18th. Barley Mac came together with Glenlivet to brainstorm the perfect four course scotch dinner. Twenty-three people showed up with excitement, ready to enjoy the night with fellow scotch lovers and a scotch expert. The evening started off with the first course of Baby Greenhouse Arugula & Frisee Salad paired with Glenlivet Oloroso. Glenlivet Oloroso has flavors of dried fruits and warm spices which makes it spicy and complex. This whisky is exclusively matured in first fill oloroso sherry oak casks from the Jerez region of Spain.
As the night went on laughter and good vibes filled the room. The second course was a mouth-watering eight Hour Braised Pork Riblet, paired well with Glenlivet Founder’s Reserve which flavors are intensely smooth with a creamy sweetness. Fast forward to the final fourth course meal, the Double Chocolate Cake Nipolian paired with Glenlivet 18 year. Balanced and elegant, Glenlivet 18 year has flavor notes of ripe citrus and winter spice. The European oak adds spicy notes and complexity and the first-fill American oak casks add the tropical fruitiness. Scotch lovers raved about the night and are looking forward to attend the next scotch dinner at Barley Mac.
